Split up already

Recipie for disaster. Gavin ‘signal right and go straight on’ Moreton up front.  Richard ‘my headset is fooked’ Edwards and Rob ‘I am going to McDonsalds no matter what’ Williams following behind. We were bound to get separated.

Of course if you get separated the best thing to do is stay put so they know where to find you right? Well we can confirm that does not work if you all go in separate directions and then all stop waiting to be found.

Oh, yeah and its still raining.

Not far to go now, time to book a B&B, Rob and Gav have agreed that Rich is banned from doing this as he seems to have the nack of finding the the only place that really are not fit for pigs.

Rich found some heart shaped pastries, lets not read anything into that! Coffee to keep us awake and back into the rain.

What a surprise, its raining

So we arrived at the ferry terminal in Newhaven at about 9am. Very early!

We are now starting to settle int our various roles.

Gavin ‘where’s France’ Moreton is the worrier. ‘I only have 8 miles of fuel left’ ‘ my screen is crap’ ‘need to get there early’

Richard ‘I need to empty my Bag’ Edwards is the Moaner of the group. ‘My back hurts’, ‘I need a piss’, ‘my bikes too heavy’

Rob ‘ Should I shave off my Broke back mountain beard’ Williams is the one that is going to make the group stop all the time. ‘I’m tired’, ‘I need a coffee’, ‘I haven’t had any sleep’

The cabin was a great idea and Rob was out as soon as his head hit the pillow. Gavin and Richard spent a few hours discussing the trip the next day.

Rob woke up in th morning to a very worrying site and we are stil not 100% sure what Gave and Richard were up to

All that could be hear was ‘left a bit, right a bit arrrr’

We arrived in France at 5am and were presently surprised to find that it was not raining. We spent 10 mins trying to drag Robs bike out of the wheel chock on the ferry before he announced that it was inn gear (dick).

On the ferry Richard made friends with Uncle Albert from only fools and horses who proceed to tell him about there placed he had visited during the war, he does seem to attract them.

We stopped for fuel, and put our waiter proofs on.

The lack of rain never lasted long and we were soon riding through a torrential downpour so pulled over for a coffee in Alencon, shortly followed by a second coffee because Rob was moaning about being tired.

Planning? What planning

Another year, another trip.

On the 11th May 2018 we will set off for another European jaunt, this time to the Pyrénées. Richard ‘I need to empty my bag’ Edwards, Rob ‘I dropped it’ Williams and Gavin ‘Where’s France’ Moreton will catch the Ferry from Newhaven at 11pm arriving at Dieppe at 5am.

For months the guys have been discussing the plan for the trip, more accurately they have been discussing that we really should plan the trip. Now one week to go, we will adopt the usual arrive, head left or right ‘wing it’ approach that has served us so well on previous trips. Richard and Rob will be packing their bikes Friday morning, Gavin ‘Where’s France’ was packed in January.

We will head down the centre of France planning to complete the trip to the Pyrénées on the Saturday and from there we will just chase the sun.
The ‘planned route’ to be more accurate Richard just entered a start and end point and let google do the hard work .
